Measure, grow, and sell business value.
Gary founded Aldridge Valuation Advisors in August 2018 to provide business valuation, fractional CFO, private coaching, and business brokerage services. His greatest satisfaction comes from helping an owner exit successfully and create opportunities for the next generation.
Measure Value
Establish a rigorous, defensible understanding of what the business is worth today.
Grow Value
Set a target value and make decisions with greater purpose, focus, and accountability.
Sell Value
Carry that understanding of value into a confident, well-managed sale process.
You can guess or you can know. Guessing is expensive.
Gary shares a personal story demonstrating the value of planning and being prepared for the unexpected.
There is more to life than business and numbers.
Here is a little more about Gary, his background, and the areas on which he focuses in life.
Background
Gary is originally from Jackson, Mississippi, and moved to the Nashville area in March 2016.
Family
Gary has two sons. James helps him with digital marketing and the audio-visual production of podcasts and reels. John is a drummer and lives in Florida.
Fitness
Gary is a former college cheerleader and triathlete. Between ages 45 and 50, he completed approximately 23 triathlons, including six half Ironman and two full Ironman events.
His mantra was “Finish, have fun, and don’t hurt anything.” Triathlon taught him to run his own race, stay in his lane, keep moving forward, and never give up. He shares more of that experience in Build for Sale!
Finances
Gary’s interest in business value started when he was five years old and persuaded his older brother and sister to let him join their Monopoly game. They assumed he did not know the rules or could not count, and repeatedly tried to pay him less rent than they owed.
After Gary caught them short-paying him several times, his sister looked at his brother and said, “Uh oh. I think we are in trouble.” Gary won the game—the only game he ever won against either sibling, both of whom competed for valedictorian and earned mathematics awards.
Gary still approaches business as a game, except he plays to win! Once you understand the rules, decisions become easier. Learn the process, apply it consistently, and focus and execute.
